Black Friday Is Coming!

With retailers preparing discounts for the imminent Black Friday, Best Buy has posted a preview of their discounts including $45 off an iPad 2 and $150 off a $1199 MacBook Pro. Black Friday is coming this Friday, November 25th. Many high street retailers and also those online participate on the day so if you want to buy that iPad 2 you’ve been hankering after, Friday would be a good time to do it.

Apple has now posted a teaser for their Black Friday event, with the following details:

“The special one-day Apple shopping event. This Friday, November 25.

Apple Investigating Verizon iPad 3G Connection Issues

Apple is investigating connection issues with the Verizon 3G iPad 2.

The Apple Support Discussion boards list five pages discussing the problem. Wi-Fi functions work well enough, but 3G connections either take several minutes or never occur at all. While there’s no clear evidence that all Verizon iPad 2 users face the same problem, the complaints coming in from those affected are very similar. When the Verizon iPad 2′s 3G function is deactivated, it will not reactivate or connect without a reboot. Switching the device in and out airplane mode has no effect.

Apple has apparently issued a statement to All Things D saying “We are aware that a small number of iPad 2 customers have experienced connectivity issues with the Verizon 3G network and we are investigating it.”

Today Apple announced the iPad 2 which will be available in the USA a week on Friday and in most other countries on March 25th.

Apple Issues Invitations For Media Event

Apple has issued their media event invitations for March 2nd. It’s quite clear form the invitations that they are going to announce iPad 2 at the event. There have been some recent rumors that the iPad 2 would not be announced until September but this latest news has quickly put a quash on those.

According to the invitation received by The Loop, the event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10:00 am. This is the same venue Apple has used to introduce a number of products in recent years.

Apple To Hold Media Event On March 2nd!

All Things Digital reports that Apple has scheduled a media event for March 2nd where the company is expected to introduce the next-generation iPad.

According to the report’s sources, the scheduled date is firm, and the event will take place in San Francisco. Apple has generally held its San Francisco media events at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

It’s not clear when Apple will begin sending out its invites for the gathering, but it will need to be soon in order to ensure enough notice is given to the lucky ones who are able to attend.

iPad 2 Event Later This Month

Macotakara claims that Apple is planning to hold a short media event at the end of February to launch the iPad 2 and actual availability of the device will be in March.

Apple is widely known to be prepping the next generation iPad. There have been reports of iPad 2 prototypes being spotted and there was also an unconfirmed tip that a television commercial for the iPad 2 had already been shot in LA last week.
