Genius Feature Added To iPad

Genius For iPadApple has recently added the Genius feature to its App Store application on the iPad. Similar to other Genius offerings from Apple, the new tab offers automatic suggestions on applications users might be interested in based on other applications that have already downloaded, two sections are offered: One recommending new applications and one recommending upgraded versions of applications the user already owns.

Apple has also rolled out a ‘Try before you buy’ section on the ‘App Store‘ which in a nutshell is a list of ‘Lite’ versions of apps. Don’t get too excited as it’s limited to developers who have produced free versions of their apps, it doesn’t mean you’ll be able to test out every single app on the ‘App Store’ for free!

iBooks Launches In The UK

With just one day until iPad launches outside of the USA, iBooks is now available in the UK iTunes App Store. It was believed that a few countries actually had availability to iBooks over a week ago but the UK store was not showing the application.

When you download iBooks, Winnie The Pooh will appear on your bookshelf as a taster of what you can expect. The books currently available are free when entering the iBooks store and there isn’t a huge selection to choose from but the fact that iBooks is available can only be good news for those living outside of the US. With any luck there will be more books available at launch on Friday, 28th May.

Just over a week before the iPad is to be officially launched worldwide, Apple have fired up the ‘iPad App Store’. Anyone who managed to get hold of an iPad outside of the USA knows that trying to access the app store on your iPad would bring up a message stating that the ‘Store is not currently available in your country’.

If you try accessing the store now via your iPad, you’ll be good to go!
