iPad 2 To Possibly Ship End Of February

iPad Diagonal

Foxconn Electronics factories have recently been told that they will ship Apple’s next generation iPad within the next 100 days with initial shipments to reach 400,000-600,000 units according to Digitimes.

iPad 2 will ship as soon as the end of February in 2011. Apple originally planned to start mass production in January, but because the device’s firmware is currently still in testing, Apple has been postponing the schedule. Since Foxconn’s new plants in Chengdu are still in pilot production, iPad 2 will be mainly supplied by its Shenzhen plants, while the company’s upstream component partners have all been notified of the shipments schedule.

Rumors have suggested that the new iPad will include a FaceTime camera, gyroscope, thinner form factor, better display and a USB connector.

HyperDrive iPad Hard Drive

HyperDrive For iPad64GB not enough for you and your iPad, well how about adding an extra 750GB storage?

That’s exactly what the HyperDrive offers, it has a 3.2 inch color display and works with the Apple iPad connection Kit. It’s likely a niche product for photographers on the go and also has the ability to back up 12 different types of memory cards which then allows you to transfer your images easily to the iPad and view your photos on that lush iPad screen.

It’s not cheap though at $599 for the 750GB model. It will apparently be available for purchase on Monday 6th September here.
