Here are a few tips to get you up and running with iPad. If you know of some others please leave a comment to let everyone know.
SOFT RESET
On occasions you may find that your iPad freezes. If it does you can do a soft reset by holding down the ‘Home’ button and ‘Power’ button until your iPad restarts. Once it has restarted you’re good to go with everything intact.
SUPER FAST WEBPAGE SCROLLING
You’ve finally read an entire webpage and have scrolled all the way to the bottom but now you need to get back to the top. You could flick your fingers a few times down the screen to get back to the top of the page but a much faster way is to just tap the ‘Title’ bar and you’ll be back at the top faster than you can say your name.
6 APPS ON THE BOTTOM DOCK
The iPad as default shows you 4 icons on the bottom dock area but unlike the iPhone you can have six icons instead of a maximum of four. All you need to do is tap and hold any icon which unlocks it’s position and drag it to the bottom….voila.
TAKING SCREENSHOTS
Just like the iPhone, you can also take screenshots by quickly pressing down (and releasing) the ‘Home’ and Power’ buttons at the same time. A screenshot will be taken and be stored within your ‘Photos’ area of iPad. This will also produce a much bigger (1024×768) screenshot than the iPhone due to the iPads bigger screen size and higher resolution.
QUICK MUTE
If you want to quickly cut the sound on your iPad without unlocking it for example, you can just hold down the volume button for 2 seconds and your iPad will be muted.
SAVE IMAGES WHILE BROWSING THE WEB
Need to save an image while browsing a webpage? No problem, just tap and hold the image in question and you’ll be prompted to save the image.
COPYING WHOLE PARAGRAPHS
Rather than selecting a word and then having to drag the little blue sliders to highlight a whole paragraph, just tap 4 times on the paragraph you want to copy and it will be highlighted immediately.
